Charlotte Fry delivered a standout performance to secure bronze in the individual dressage event at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Riding her impressive horse, Glamourdale, Fry achieved a remarkable score of 88.971 at the iconic Palace of Versailles, solidifying Team GB’s fifth equestrian medal of the Games.
Fry’s technical brilliance and grace on Sunday earned her a coveted spot on the podium, adding to her impressive Olympic career and significantly contributing to Team GB’s equestrian success in Paris. This bronze medal follows her earlier contribution to the team dressage bronze won the previous day.
Fry's routine was highlighted by a seamless display of precision and artistry, reflecting a notable improvement from her qualifying score of 78.913. Her dazzling performance, paired with a motivational “best of British” soundtrack, showcased the perfect synergy between rider and horse.
The individual dressage podium was dominated by German riders, with Jessica Von Bredow-Werndl securing the gold medal with a score of 90.093, and Isabell Werth claiming silver with 89.614. Despite a strong start from Carl Hester, who led heading into the final six riders, he ultimately finished in sixth place. Becky Moody, stepping in for Charlotte Dujardin, concluded the competition in eighth place.
Fry’s achievement adds to a triumphant equestrian campaign for Team GB, which also includes gold in team eventing and team jumping, as well as an individual eventing bronze for Laura Collett.
